St. Veit Museum was created in 2004 from the merging of the Transport
Museum (founded in 1982) and the Town Museum (founded in 1886) as
the new central museum of the town of St. Veit an der Glan.

St. Veit Museum is a museum that focuses on the themes of transport
(railways, road transport and the gendarmerie), telecommunications
and the history of the town of St. Veit. It aims to show the effects of
these on people, society, politics, the economy and the environment in
the past, present and future, underpinned by cultural science. Our
priority aim when implementing this vision is the collection, restoration,
conservation and public exhibitions of historical items on the major
themes listed above.
